The Consortium for the Study of Chronic

Pancreatitis, Diabetes and Pancreatic Cancer

(CPDPC) was formed to undertake a compre-

hensive clinical, epidemiological, and biological

characterization of patients with Chronic

Pancreatitis (including those with Acute

Recurrent Pancreatitis) to gain insight into the

pathophysiology and treatment of chronic pan-

creatitis and its sequela: chronic pain, pancre-

atic insufficiency, type 3c diabetes and the

diabetes/pancreatic cancer association. The

multidisciplinary teams will also undertake

studies on the development of pancreatic

cancer in newly diagnosed diabetic patients.
